Happy Birthday, Kennadee!

Today is Kennadee's 5th birthday! She is our friend from next door. She is super fun and cute, and she calls to play with Kori or me quite often. I love it when she comes over during the day to keep me company. I offered to make a birthday cake for her. Since Kenna is a true princess, we made a replica of the Princess and the Pea! We are all going over later to see Kenna and eat some cake, yum! Happy birthday, Kennadee!!

Senior Prom

Here's our handsome son all ready for the Senior Prom!

This is the first time he has needed a tux for a dance. He cleans up very well, I must say!

I love the gerber daisy corsage. You can't see the rhinestone bracelet that it is attached to. It's really pretty.

Colton's date is Kaylie Chatterton. They look like a checkerboard with his dark coat and her dark hair, and her white dress and his light hair!

I love Kaylie's dress! I think they look great together!

Colton Slide Show

I've been lazy about getting professional pics taken, but I need some Colton photos for grad announcements, so I just snapped a few today. So if you're looking, Eileen, don't judge me! This is my very unprofessional camera! But I'm sharing, because he's just so handsome!!

Health Days Parade

One of the things I love about Cache Valley is that all of the little towns and communities here are so unique. Throughout the summer, each town has its own celebration. We have festivals such as Trout and Berry Days, Pony Express Days, Black and White Days, and our Smithfield celebration is called Health Days. Every city has its own parade, which offers a lot of opportunity for the people of Cache Valley to be in a parade. All of the royalty from the different communities travel to all of the parades. These girls will ride in about 20 different parades throughout the year! Kori got to be in the Health Days parade this year with her dance group, so here are some photos of her:

This is a picture of McKinzie, she's one of my Young Women and one of this year's Health Days royalty.

I love being a Mom!

It's Mother's Day this weekend, and I want to celebrate MY CHILDREN!! So here are five reasons to love each of my awesome kids.

5 great things about being Colton's mom:
1. Colton, I'm a mom because of you! I could never have imagined loving a tiny person so completely, or being so fulfilled as a woman until you came into my life. You are easy to love, and I think I am a much better person because of you.
2. You have always been a responsible kid, and it is so rewarding to see you become a responsible adult and take charge of your life and future. Keep making excellent decisions, and you will go far!
3. I love your music! I love to hear you play the guitar, and I love to hear classic 80's rock coming out of your primo car speakers.
4. I am so impressed that you are a terrific big brother! Clint and Kori are super lucky to have you! You're an excellent example to follow.
5. You have introduced me to some new things recently, most notably Lost!! Thank you!

5 great things about being Kori's mom:
1. Kori, you have always been my best girlfriend, and you keep getting more and more fun to hang out with! I hope we will always have a fantastic friendship! (and many more girlie weekends!)
2. You are my go to girl, you always have a great idea, or you can help me expand on my ideas. You have an extremely creative mind! I always wonder what you'll come up with next!
3. I love being in Young Women with you. It's my dream come true to get to serve while you are there, and it's just so fun for me to watch you grow up from the perspective of a YW leader as well as a mom.
4. You always say "I love you" and that means so much to me.
5. You are very sensitive to others, thoughtful, and have a deep desire to help people. I really hope your humanitarian service dreams come true!

5 great things about being Clint's mom:
1. Clint, you have always been one to show love to me by your actions, whether it's a hug, some much needed help, or a compliment at just the right moment. You are sensitive to what I need, and that is a quality that I really admire about you.
2. There should be a website called Clintipedia! You have an amazing brain and incredible recall for little interesting facts! I wish my brain worked like yours.
3. You are delightful and funny, and you've always brought a lot of joy into my life.
4. You're fun to walk to the park and play frisbee with!
5. I love that you are outgoing and willing to talk to people. I think you are very charming and sweet, and people really like you. That is a nice way to be!

PS kids, you have to know that you have one terrific Dad! I thank my Heavenly Father every single day that my kids have an awesome Dad. I could not be half the Mom I am without a supportive, loving, happy relationship with you, Wes. I love you forever.
Happy Mother's Day to all of you other Moms out there as you celebrate your own wonderful children!

Material Girls

Like, we had a totally awesome time at our 80's party last night. We played some 80's trivia games, and Kori got the prize for the most 80's music knowledge. We did some Sweatin' to the Oldies with Richard Simmons, and we ate lots of chocolate fondue. A most excellent activity! I must say, I have never actually dressed like this in my life, (plus I need a tan) but Jamie will tell you I always wanted to be a material girl. Kori did the whole preppy thing, isn't she cute?? Colton asked what did straight haired girls do in the 80's...perm, baby! Fun for me to reminisce, probably more fun for Kori to laugh at me!!

Good Things Utah

Here I am with my friends Kathi, Diana, Ranae and Shauna at the Good Things Utah TV show. We were in the studio audience today, yes we were on TV!! It was so much fun. The hosts of the show are even prettier in person, and so personable and darling. Everyone treated us so well. Plus it was Shauna's birthday so she got a shout out!! I've never been to a taping of that kind of a TV show, it was interesting to see how it all works behind the scenes. I'd love to go again sometime!

Kori's News

Exciting news for Kori, she has made the yearbook staff for next year! HOORAY! We are sooooo relieved, because this is something she has dreamed about for the last 5 years. They had 95 applications come in and they only picked a few kids! So just a little brag, we're thrilled and I'm proud of my daughter!
