Playing With Photoshop

My class is done, and I have been trying to practice my mad skills so that I don't forget everything I've learned!  Here are some things I've been working on.
I really love these grid templates.  You can change them up and I just like how they look.  So I made a page for each of my boys.

This is a new customized desktop for Kori and me.  It's just silly, I was just messing around to see what I could create.  Kori liked it though!

And I made this handout for my Visiting Teaching ladies this month:

So fun!  I am amazed at how much Photoshop Elements can do!  I want to keep practicing so that I can take the advanced class too.

The Day Date

Okay, here are some pictures of Kori's Prom day date.  I really like this day date idea.  They didn't do this when I was in high school.  But I love it because when they've already spent the whole day together, I don't feel a bit bad about a midnight curfew.  They've had the day date, they don't need to continue the date after the dance.  And Kori loved the day date even more than the Prom.  They went to the mall and they were going to do a video scavenger hunt, but the mall won't allow that.  So they turned it into a photo scavenger hunt, and then that turned into "let's find the weirdest outfit and make you try it on!"  After that, they went to Bluebird and had ice cream at the old fashioned soda fountain.  Fun!  I'm so glad Kori had her camera, some of the photos are just hysterical!  Once again, Kori and Steve, Alysha and Shane:

Prom 2011

Kori is off to her first Prom!

We LOVE this dress!  It is very unique and I love the back and the train.  She looks gorgeous in it too!

She'll be comfortable in these shoes!

Kori's friend Alysha came over to get ready at our house.

Kori's date is Steve, Alysha's date is Shane.  Their tuxes matched perfectly, and the corsages were beautiful!

Just a few more pictures please!!

I hope they're having a great time!  Kori took some pictures of their day date and she took her camera tonight, so I'll post some more pics soon!!

Photoshop

So I am taking a Photoshop Elements class.  I am always amazed at the stuff Kori can do, and I decided since we have it, I might as well learn it!  I was super intimidated at first.  I don't feel very computer savvy.  But it has gotten better and the more I practice the more I learn.  I'm halfway through with the class, so I'm not very good at it yet, but I have made a couple of things for my homework and here they are.  I'll post more when I'm done with the class to see if I have improved.

This first one doesn't look that impressive, but I did use a lot of the tools that I have learned.  I only did a little bit of photo editing, I don't know very much of that yet.  The second one Kori had already edited this pic so it looks a lot better.

St. George Trip

Here are some quotes overheard on our recent Spring Break trip to St. George:

Clint: "I've never seen a real blown out tire before.  Maybe I should borrow Dad's pocketknife and cut off a piece of it for a souvenir."

Dad: "I forgot my nail polish."

Kori: "I only pack heavy because Mom has a blog and I have Facebook!"

Mom: "At least we don't have a Bengal tiger with us."

Dad: "I broke a nail!"

Clint: "You know, most ice cream places have an O or a C in them."

Dad: "Hurry up, Kori!"

Kori: "I'm telling you, I was sent to this family to teach you guys patience."

Clint: "You know, loose lips may sink ships, but at least they can say their O's."

Mom: "Do you guys want to guess what's in my pocket?"

Kori: "If I'm going to have stupid quotes about me, at least I'll look nice."

Clint:  "I'm not gonna tell you."

All of us:  "SNOW!?!?"
