We took Livi to her first movie on the big screen, Moana! It is perfection, btw. We all loved it. Livi did great. She was super excited to go and then afterward she kept saying "movie was fun!" and "popcorn!" She loves popcorn, that was almost as good as the movie itself for her. We went out for pizza after the movie. Such a fun night!!

Thankful And Full
It was the quietest Thanksgiving celebration yet, but we enjoyed every second. We were missing our missionaries and Aunt Michelle couldn't come this year, so it was just the 5 of us. We had a beautiful sunshiny day and plenty of food! Livi had previously painted some feathers that we taped to our turkey. After putting Livi to bed, the rest of us watched Sharknado The Fourth Awakens. It wasn't quite up to snuff with the other three, but we had fun. We are thankful for family far and near, for our Savior and his gospel, for our health and the good circumstances in which we live. Happy Thanksgiving!
Right after I took the pie out of the oven, I noticed these two. They just stared at me through the window for an hour! I think they were hungry. |

Missionary Highlights
Awesome letters from both of our missionaries last week! Clint was able to attend the temple with his district. He has one golden family he is teaching and he continues to be able to give lots of service in his area. Kori got to participate in her first batismo. She is adjusting to the heat and humidity, and the language is coming really well.
Livi Days
Livi days are the best days, and boy have we had fun this fall with the beautiful weather we've been having. Here are just a few recent pics:
And pretty soon this little cheeser will be ready for... SNOW!

Sawmill Hike
Another beautiful November day, another lovely hike with friends... We made it to the Sawmill up Logan Canyon today. Built in 1877, the Sawmill provided lumber for the Logan Temple and other buildings in Logan. We passed a number of beaver ponds along the way with lots of trees looking freshly chewed by beavers. We can't believe the weather we've been having! It's so warm, it's hard to believe we are this far into November. Logan Canyon is pretty as always. Thanks friends for a fun day!

Kanab
Wes had meetings for the Monument Committee this week in Kanab. It was a really fun place to visit! Wes had 2 days of meetings, 1 yucky cold and we ended up coming home a day early. Boo. I however had a fabulous trip and saw a bunch of stuff on my own. We are excited to come back to Kanab in February. We have a whole list of other things we want to do. Here is a run down on what we saw this time:
1. Johnson Canyon, part of the Monument - this was my first stop. Wes had a field trip here with his committee so he was able to see this too. Kanab is called Little Hollywood because of all the old westerns that were filmed in this area. The old Gunsmoke sets are still here in Johnson Canyon. Also, this "cowboy-glyph" old timey billboard was super cool. Lots of pretty sights along this nice drive up the canyon.
2. The Toadstools - these were about a 45 minute drive from Kanab. They are on the Monument. I had a pleasant hike to get there and then I had the place all to myself. It reminded me of a mini Goblin Valley, but it had some nice white colors mixed in with the red.
3. Paria overlook - If we'd had our truck we could have taken this road out to the location of The Outlaw Josey Wales. Hopefully next time.
4. Coral Pink Sand Dunes - This State Park is a little drive outside of Kanab. The dunes stretch on for 7 miles. It's a popular place for OHVs. I stopped at the visitor's center, overlook, and walked along a fun interactive nature walk on the dunes.
5. Bunting Hike - I loved this hike right on the edge of Kanab. It is pretty steep, it goes right up into the cliffs surrounding the town. It was a beautiful hike, a lovely morning all to myself, and... dinosaur tracks!!
6. Little Hollywood Museum - I'm pretty sure this place has seen better days. It seems a little neglected and it's mostly a large souvenir shop, but it did have some cool set pieces, including some from The Outlaw Josey Wales!
7. Squaw Hike - Even though Wes wasn't feeling well, he did this little hike with me right before we headed home. It was a glorious morning and the views of Kanab were spectacular!

There were supposed to be petroglyphs near the top, but I forgot to look for them, then I saw this photo, are those the petroglyphs behind me? |
