It was a wonderful birthday celebration for Wes, complete with Mexican food, sombreros and dessert for him and Livi. Later we opened presents at our house, and then Wes and I partied with the neighbors at the Stake Center for New Year's Eve. The next day we had dinner and birthday cake with Karlee and Colton and Livi. Happy Birthday Pop-Pop!! We are grateful for everything you do to keep our family safe and happy. We love you!

Christmas Day
Christmas morning was magical as we woke up to fresh falling snow! It was a really good storm, enough that they cancelled Sacrament Meeting. Wes and I enjoyed looking out the window and eating breakfast until Colton and Karlee and Livi came down for Clint's Skype!
It was awesome to talk to Clint! He had a wonderful Christmas. He even got to make sugar cookies on Christmas Eve. Christmas morning the missionaries were all treated to breakfast and stockings and gifts at the Fosters. He Skyped us after church at his Bishop's house and we had a fantastic visit. It was so great to see his face and hear his voice! In between Skypes, Karlton went home and we opened our gifts, and Wes did some snowblowing.
Later in the afternoon we got to Skype with Kori and it was super fun to talk to her too. It would have been nice for our two missionaries to have been able to coordinate and talk to each other, but for us, it was fun to make the Skyping last all day! Kori had a lot of fun with her Brazilian friends and they liked watching us on the screen too. They oohed and ahhed at our snow and they waved at us and were so cute. One of them told Kori "your family has a lot of cookies because your dad has been eating cookies this whole time." Bahaha! Kori is happy in Brazil and loves serving there. Wes and I winded down the day with Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer on DVD. It was a lovely Christmas. We are grateful for our family near and far, grateful that we could talk to our missionaries and have Colton's family celebrate with us, and always grateful for our Savior whom we celebrate on this day, for his atonement and example. Merry Christmas everyone!

Christmas Eve
It's the most wonderful time of the year! Santa's red sleigh came a little early with a new motorcycle for Wes! Colton borrowed Clint's awesome Luke Skywalker costume for his work's private showing of Rogue One. On Christmas Eve day, Livi took a nap in the early afternoon while the rest of us ate lunch and hung out. Then it was time for cookies!
Dinner was roast pork, potatoes, salad, corn, rolls, slush and poison apples! Livi loved the poison apples, she said they were "dripping."
Our talents this year were diverse and fun. Livi and Karlee sang a duet of "Jingle Bells." Karlee sang most of the song, and Livi sang some of the echoes and a few of the words. It was darling!
Colton solved a very complex calculus problem from one of his Econ classes. We were all impressed, and it was way over my head!
I recited the poem "The Owl and the Pussycat" only for our purposes, it was "The Owl and the Lalacat." Wes played the ukulele and sang Silver Bells.
We also showed a video of Clint playing the guitar and some photos Kori had taken for their Christmas Eve Talents. Our new Christmas book was a board book for Livi, Sing To Baby Jesus. After yummy dessert, Karlton took Livi home to have a tubby and get ready for bed and Wes and I marveled at how strange it was to be in the house alone on Christmas Eve!
