Cutest Lunch Date

I tended Livi all day the other day while her parents went skiing. We went to Kneaders for a snack and I caught a few cute pics of her. We had a blast all day, fun fun little girl!

Silly little cheeseball!

Around The Block

It's not often that we can ski right from our front door! We had a really fun ski today through the neighborhood and all around the golf course. My body is gonna be sore tomorrow! Lots of snow out there, and still more on the way for the next few days!

Still pretty buried at the house.

Is that a snowflake I caught with the camera or a Gandalf beard?

We are most definitely NOT snobby about our ski fashion!

Diving practice at the Sessions' pool, ha ha!

Snowpocalypse!

Mother Nature welcomed us to January in a big big way!  We have had snow for days, mixed with ice, rain, sub zero temps, school closures, flooding and avalanches.  It's been pretty much a weather roller coaster throughout January so far.  Right after the first of the year, it started snowing one day and didn't stop until it dumped about 24 inches on us.  We had one delayed day of school and then two days of cancelled school, which is unheard of here in the Cache.  Then we got the freezing temps.  Bio-West had their annual ski night at Beaver on Jan 5th and it was -5 when we drove into the parking lot and -26 by the time we drove home.  Brutal!  People were having frozen pipes and I actually got a bit of frostbite on a couple of fingers.  Then in one day, the temps rose to 45 degrees!  The city and county had warned of flooding and were handing out sandbags.  We cleared our gutters and made paths away from our window wells and luckily we rode out the rains and melting snow.  More snow and rain was on the way, which is a recipe for avalanche and sure enough, a big avalanche fell onto the highway right below Beaver Mountain yesterday.  The highway was shut down and the skiers had a long wait to get down the mountain.  They kept the road closed until about 10:00 this morning to make sure there wouldn't be any more avalanches.  Holy smokes, what is next??  This has been pretty crazy.  We are grateful that we have been safe so far on the roads, and that our house has been okay.  We are grateful to be at 125 % of normal for precipitation so far, so we'll take that.  We'll just see what the rest of winter brings.
