Moving Day
It was a big day. Happy and sad. We got Karlee and Colton and Livi all moved to Layton. Brock's dad had loaned them his ginormous snowmobile trailer, and we had it loaded with everything in only about an hour and a half! Karlee fed us some yummy sandwiches and veggie tray and then we all headed south to Layton. We unloaded in about the same amount of time. It was pretty slick. We had a beautiful day for it too. Their apartment is lovely! 3 nice sized bedrooms, 2 baths, cute kitchen, big living room, gas fireplace, lots of windows, lots of closets. They will be very happy there. It is a fourplex, actually there are four fourplexes in all. It was built in the 70s but it's all been nicely updated and it was clean and smelled good. It is nestled right up against the mountains east of Layton, right off highway 89, so they'll have easy access, plus it's a beautiful area. There are a few houses around it, lots of mature trees and squirrels everywhere. It's just down the street from the entrance to Layton Canyon which is a pretty popular hike. We saw a lot of kids toys around, so there will be kids for Livi to play with. They are going to try and find their ward tomorrow. Hopefully they can sleep well tonight! Colton had gotten home at 1:00 in the morning from his last business trip to Texas with Spectrum. Karlee has had a crazy busy week getting everything ready to go all by herself. They were still smiling, but they were so tired. Livi was adorable! She wanted to show off her room, and her other room, and her mom and dad's room, and her bathrooms, and her closets, and her stairs, and her neighborhood, and she was just so excited about everything! I hope she'll adjust easily. We are excited for Colton to start his new job. He reports Tuesday morning at 8:00 am! Good luck, son! We are so proud of you and excited for this new chapter!

Planting Poma's Pots
I had the cutest little helper the other day. We planted some succulents in my front porch pots. Livi like the "baby" ones the best! She was a good helper, digging the soil and setting the plants. It will be fun to watch these grow this year. Thanks, my little helper!

Sandbox
The Thompson sandbox has been resurrected! Hooray! And Livi LOVES it...
The glory days, look at that freshly painted fence!
The new sandbox! We cleaned out the old sandbox and fitted this new covered box inside. It's nice because we can keep the toys inside, keep it covered, and it won't get so dirty. Livi had fun helping me put the sand in, and we had a blast playing this morning!

Happy Mother's Day
It was a beautiful day! I just love being "Mom" and "Poma," it's my most fulfilling job. And I must say, Wes and I have produced some pretty spectacular kids!! It feels real good to have them up and out and doing good things and being great humans. We are so proud of all of them. Karlee and Colton and Livi came over after church to wait for missionary Skypes. They brought me a beautiful little cactus plant in a gorgeous blue pot. It's totally me, I love it! :) We gave Karlee a cook book and some Tupperware. Wes gave me a new hand mixer which I had requested since my old one is going out. The new one is the best because it's a pretty Tiffany blue color. ;) Missionary calls were excellent! Relaxed and natural and we just all had a really great visit. Kori called first. Livi got to talk to her for a little bit before she went down for a nap. We had a few glitches. Our Skype got dropped a few times. We went back and forth between Skype and Messenger a little bit. Also, Kori's English is a little rusty. But we managed to have a lovely visit with her. She is happy and vibrant and loving the mission! When Clint joined us on Skype, he and Kori could hear each other, and they could hear us, but we couldn't hear them. We couldn't figure out what the problem was, so we just let Kori and Clint visit with each other. We waved goodbye at that point to Kori, and told Clint to just call us back when he was done talking with Kori. When he called us, the Skype worked just fine and we had a great time with him too. He is so handsome and has changed so much since he's been out. He's in a new area and still learning about it. We only got to talk to him for about a half hour before someone came in and told him to wrap it up. About half of his time was taken up talking to Kori. But that's great because they weren't able to see each other at Christmas and they haven't talked for a year. I'm glad they had that chance to catch up and compare notes. They both were amazed at how big Livi is. She was a little shy with them, but she knew who they were! After Colton and Karlee left, I called to wish my mom a happy day and to tell her about the missionary calls. Then we made cookies, cause we had to try out the new mixer, right? It's been a wonderful day, thank you all my favorites!!
I like being Cider's mom too. |

Health Days Parade
This year I got to be part of the Health Days parade with the library board. It was fast and furious but lots of fun. We dressed as construction workers to go with our summer theme of "Build a Better World." We handed out bookmarks, and some of them have prizes on them that people can come into the library to claim. Fun idea! Luckily we had a beautiful day, a bit cool, but sunny and nice!

Bubble Makeup
Our bubbles in the backyard turned into bubble makeup which then turned into bubble makeup on Cider! I love this silly, cute, goofy, imaginative, fun girl!
Time Capsule From 2007
This jar has been hanging out in the Mormon room for 10 years! It was finally time to open it. Inside were journal entries that we each wrote during a FHE lesson that Kori gave about journals. It was really fun to see our handwriting and read what we wrote 10 years ago.

Class Of 2017
Here he comes, world! We are so dang proud of our first college graduate! We celebrated today at the commencement of the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business. Mr. Huntsman was there and gave a few remarks. We watched Colton walk and then we went out for pizza and back to Karlee and Colton's house for some yummy cake. It's been a wonderful day! Colton is headed to SLC to work for Goldman Sachs at the end of the month. We are excited for this new adventure! We love you so much, son!
And per family tradition... I love this family of ours.
