Wes got to spend 10 days on the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon, his bucket list trip! Even better, this was a work trip and he got paid to go! It was a Razorback Sucker sampling mission, one of the fish biologist projects. Wes has been wanting to figure out a way to go on this trip, and this was his year. He had a ball! It was pretty much geology heaven. He helped sample the fish, enjoyed the river rapids and all the geology. The river guides took great care of them, the food was all provided and really good. Wes took white shirts for everyone to tie dye on the last night, and that was a hit. He also brought a variety of plastic crabs, lizards, and fish to hide in everyone's stuff. He thought 10 days was a little long, I'm not sure he's gonna be chomping at the bit for the next trip, but it truly was a dream come true for him. 10 days was long for me, especially because I couldn't talk to him at all. No cell service in the canyon. They had a satellite phone for emergencies but that was it. Good thing Clint was home to hang out with! We were really happy to have Wes back. He took a bajillion photos, it was hard to whittle it down to just a few, so here is a really long post with lots of pics. The photos are incredible! What an amazing adventure!
