While Wes was in Mexico, Michelle decided to play in Hawaii! Shauna and Ranae and I have talked about doing this trip for literally years. Ranae has never been to Hawaii and has wanted me to show her around. Shauna needed some distraction and new Hawaii memories. I gave Ranae my guide book and told her to choose what she wanted to do. She wanted snorkeling and waterfalls. Shauna wanted to see a few things she hasn't seen before. I planned everything and took us all around. I might have been a little "go go go" for Shauna, but Ranae needed to see everything and we did get to some new beaches for Shauna to relax. We also did PCC, Pearl Harbor, Punchbowl, Waimea falls, Manoa falls (which was hilariously empty, but a gorgeous hike), BYUH, temple, paddle boarding, and so much more. We stayed in a really cute and comfy condo, played Hawaii garbage every night, laughed, talked, played Wordle every morning, ate yummy food, and had a blast! We also had perfect weather. It was a wonderful time to go as it was snowing back at home. One big highlight for me was getting to meet Kori's favorite mission friend Sherrizah and her husband Carlo. They are from the Philippines, Kori knew Sherrizah in Brazil, and here I was meeting her in Hawaii. The world is so small and so amazing sometimes. They were so sweet to us, feeding us coconut cake and giving us gifts. Sherrizah may be petite, but she is a giant ray of sunshine. And Carlo is studying tourism and hospitality, which he'll be perfect for. We all loved them so much and wanted to adopt both of them after our visit!
We decided we're really great traveling companions, so we probably need to plan more trips. 2023 here we come!
