It was a rainy Memorial Day weekend, but not only did we make the most of it, we had the biggest crowd ever! Marie had three of her kids and five of her grandkids there, Margo came, and Colton's family joined me. The flowers were beautiful and I was pleased that the cemetery remembered my dad with a flag. Such a great day!
Mother's Day Extravaganza did not disappoint this year! Wes and I drove out to Twin Falls on Friday and spent the night at Tia and Russ's house. It was fun to visit for more than just a couple of hours. Everyone else came on Saturday and it was a party! Yummy food, awesome gifts, lots of laughter, renewing relationships, all the good stuff! We missed Kori and Karlee. Margo drove the farthest from Arizona and Tia's mom came from Wyoming. This year I gave cosmetic bags with cosmetic items inside. I had way too much fun collecting things. We got lots of good stuff! The sweetest gift was a hand drawn and painted mother/child animal drawing from Gretchen. She painted different ones for everyone. I got the swan and duckling, so cute! Wes and I visited Shoshone Falls before heading out Saturday evening. It truly is the best day of the year! I love these ladies so so much!
We test drove the new motor today. It was a bit chilly but the sunshine was gorgeous! The new motor is quiet and smooth and it ran great! Wes has a new fish finder that has all kinds of graphs and navigation and motor info and he is in heaven with that. The water temp was a brisk 45 degrees! So it'll be a few more days till we're ready to get IN the water! Today we were just happy to get out ON the water!
"Tell Me A Story" was the theme of Livi's dance recital. All of the numbers were inspired by favorite books. Livi's tap number was from The Rainbow Fish. She had a sparkly rainbow outfit with a big blue tutu. So cute! Her ballet number was from You Are Special and she had this darling red and white outfit. She did so great! She looked so confident on stage!
It was a delightful Mother's Day weekend! Colton and Karlee and the kids took me and Grammy out for dinner on Friday night at El Toro, yum! We had such a fun time. The kids had written me cards and they gave me a paper butterfly and some lilac blooms. Love these little faces so much! Wes and Clint were out of town Friday and Saturday, so I got to spend some time with myself doing whatever I wanted. Wes brought home flowers for me. On Sunday I woke up to a bunch of cute notes and gifts from Wes. He is so clever. Clint gave me a big hug, a soap and bath bomb, and he and Wes played Scrabble with me. Kori called and face timed with me for a long time. At church I got a flower. Clint and I made lemon cakes from his recipe book that we're working our way through this summer. They were delicious! It was such a nice day!
