The Happy Couple

They're ENGAGED!  Colton popped the question last night, and she said YES!

They had planned a date for a Homecoming night.  Since they look so young, they thought they could blend in with the high school kids and it would give them a chance to get all dressed up have a fancy dinner.  Karlee's mom also hooked them up with this sweet ride for the night!  It belongs to some friends from the Ward.  Karlee had no idea that Colton was scheming the engagement for the same night.  Colton talked to Karlee's parents about a month ago, and he has had the ring for even longer, but he's been waiting until this special date.  We're all so relieved we can finally speak openly about it now!  Kori took some pics before their date.

I love this shot.  Colton has a secret!

The funny thing was that when they got to The Copper Mill, there were NO high school kids there!  Not one Homecoming date!  I think Colton was a little embarrassed to be the only ones dressed up, but I think it just makes it more special.  After dinner, they went to a church parking lot, there's some history here.  Early in their dating, they dressed up to go to a dance, but they couldn't find the dance so they ended up dancing by themselves in an empty church parking lot.  Colton wanted to recreate that to surprise Karlee.  After a little while, he got down on one knee and pulled out the ring!  Afterward, they came to our house and we invited the Ulrich gang over.  We have loved this family for a long time and we love that now we'll be in-laws!  We had the lovebirds tell us the story and then we just hung out and talked and looked at the ring and grinned a whole lot.  We are so happy!

Earlier in the day we laughed hard when we saw Colton's and Karlee's horoscopes!  Good thing we don't put much stock in what the stars have to say!

Just practicing for wedding photos...

The ring is beautiful and it looks so much better now that it's on Karlee's hand!  She is going to be SUCH a stunningly gorgeous bride!  Tee hee!!  Congratulations you two!  We love you both!!
