Kori's Wisdom Teeth

Kori got her wisdom teeth out last Friday, and this is how things looked that evening.  Kori, wide awake and feeling pretty good.  Wes, sacked out on the floor!  It has now been five days, and she's been doing great!  She went back to school today for almost the whole day.  Luckily, it's been a much better experience than when Colton got his wisdom teeth out.  At least so far, knock on wood.  Kori's only disappointment was that she wasn't funnier coming out of anesthesia.  She was just wide awake and feeling normal.  No funny stories to tell about her!  We just hope she continues to feel good and heal.
Ironic.

Trying to smile with a sore mouth.

She got a little puffier than this the next day, but still not too bad.

This is a familiar sight around our house!

Tortilla Art

Holy Tortilla-oly!  Clint has developed a new art form.  He chewed a tortilla into the batman symbol the other night at dinner.  Think we could sell these on e-bay??

Health Days Pageant 2013

What a wonderful group of Health Days Pageant participants this year!  I think this was the best experience I've had being on the committee.  We felt like we knew what we were doing a little bit more this time around, and we loved working with these girls.  They ALL did an amazing job and of course I wish they could all win.  For the stage decor, I browsed around DI and found these trees for 5 bucks each so I decided to use them.  I painted them silver, and I also used Karlee's column idea with silver paper.  I was worried about how the trees would look, since they weren't in great shape.  But with a little paint and a lot of twinkly lights, the stage ended up looking pretty cool!  When I brought in the construction tubes, the other committee members were pretty curious, and the columns were awesome.  I liked the silver, it was simple and stunning, and it only enhanced the colors of the girls' dresses.

Here are our cuties in their professional attire.  Two returned from last year, the rest were juniors.  Darling girls.

Our awesome emcees, Lillium.

Toward the end of the program, Lillium sang Katy Perry's "Firework" and it got the girls all to their feet!  The best moment of the night.

Last year's royalty, looking beautiful in their matching dresses.

Waiting for the big announcement!

And the 2013-14 Smithfield Health Days Royalty are:
Sarah Hunsaker!

Raslyn Gladfelder!

Melissa Hardman!

Melissa Enriquez!

And Heather Adams!

Congratulations to the winners, and all the participants!  It was a fantastic night!

Boys Vs. Girls Week - Last Dress Up Day

Can you guess what dress up day today was?

Yes, it's Senior Citizen day.  These are the old folks at our home.

Someone said to Kori "you look soooo much like your mom today!"  Hmmm... should I be offended by that?

Do Senior Citizens all have squinty eyes?  I guess that's how high schoolers view them at least.  Funny stuff, love these pics!

Boys Vs. Girls Week - Signs

These are some of the signs that BAGA decorated the school with for Boys Vs. Girls Week.  Rude?  Maybe.  Funny?  Definitely.   Good thing it's just for fun, and we all know they really do like each other, right?  The last one is my favorite.  Oh, and I've been told Carrie from the previous post is dressed as someone from Duck Dynasty.  No, I can't say that I've ever seen that show.

Boys Vs. Girls Week - Movie Character Day

Today the kids had to dress up like a favorite movie character.  Clint dressed as a hobbit, and evidently joined an entire convention of hobbits and other Lord of the Rings characters at school!  I hope someone will post pictures!  Kori dressed like Aquamarine, the mermaid.  The girls all knew who she was, but none of the boys did.  They looked great and had fun.  Kori took some pics of other memorable movie characters from the day.

Gillian channeling Esmerelda.

I'm not sure who Carrie is, but this is dang hilarious!

BAGA girls, Aquamarine, Wendy, and Rapunzel.

Seth's Joker is scary!

I'm pretty sure Kori likes being sandwiched between Mitch's Clark Kent/Superman and Jack's Bond, James Bond.

Flynn Ryder and Rapunzel rocked the lunch time Karaoke contest and had the whole school singing along to "I see the light..."
