Happy Birthday To Our Super Hero!
On his actual birthday, Wes did some of this:
While I worked on the Chocolate Pudding! Yum...
That night, Wes and I went to a fun New Year's Eve party with some friends and neighbors. We played lots of games and ate lots of good food. The next day, we were able to get together with our family for a birthday party!
Wes grilled us some steaks and chicken, and then we opened presents!
We watched Muppets Most Wanted and then ate chocolate pudding. Happy Birthday, Padre Man! You may not be the real Captain America, but you'll always be OUR SUPER HERO!! We love you!

Christmas Morning
We woke up Christmas morning to a storm! We were hoping for a white Christmas, and boy, did Mother Nature deliver! It was a steady amount of beautiful flakes all day long.
Stockings, then breakfast, then opening presents.
Karlton came over in the afternoon for a little while before heading over to the Ulriches for Elder Ulrich's phone call. They loved all the baby stuff we gave them! Finally in the evening we got to talk to Kori. She was very emotional. She experienced giving a Christmas rather than receiving a Christmas and she was extra touched by the true spirit and meaning of Christmas. We are happy that she had this memorable time! This is what she wrote on her instagram post:
This photo is of one of the happiest moments of my life. Two nights ago, we received a lot of donations for Christmas, including some bags with candy, balloons, and Beanie Babies. I got to pick out which Beanie Babie went to each of my beloved kids. All of a sudden, I was overwhelmed with so much joy and love for these children, more so than I have felt in the last four months. I broke down and cried happy, happy tears. Today, I was able to spend all day with some of my darlings that I haven't been with for a couple weeks and gave them their Christmas presents. They were SO excited. It was a beautiful day This has been the most tender Christmas. My heart is constantly breaking here. I can't always give my kids clean water or more food when they are still hungry. I can't always be there when they cry at night, or take away their disabilities or scars. Most of all, my heart breaks because I can't give them the loving families they all deserve. But today I was able to give them a little bit of Christmas and that meant the entire world to me. This is what love is. This is what Christmas is. This is what Christ is. He is LOVE. I am so grateful that Jesus Christ came to the earth and atoned for us so that even my beloved orphans can know love because of the pure love of our Savior. Merry Christmas and Feliz Navidad.
That about says it all. Merry Christmas everyone!

Kitty liked his toys. |
Cider was crazy and too excited. She couldn't stay inside for very long. |
Clint ate his Yoda cookie with breakfast. |
A happy kitty with his catnip stick and his paper bag. |
We haven't had Legos for a couple of years. This scene was oh, so familiar. I loved it! |
"I am Groot." |

Christmas Eve Program
The talent show this year was eclectic as usual, and sometimes hilarious. We thought Wes could never top last year's talent of shaving off his mustache. He had been talking up this one for a month, and we couldn't imagine what he was going to do. Alas, it was worth it. Definitely right up there with last year. Karlee started things off with her talent of knitting. She has learned to knit and is making a blanket for Baby Mac! Impressive, this is a true talent.
Colton showed his talent of bowling, complete with his own miniature bowling alley. Strike!
Clint showed us his talent of straight razor shaving. It made me cringe a time or two, but he didn't nick himself or anything. He's gotten good at this.
Next up, me. I danced to "Shake It Off" in my glow stick suit.
Aunt Michelle taught us what she has been learning about milk, and shared some raw milk with us.
And finally, the piece de resistance! Wes's Sam the Snowman impersonation, complete with the Burl Ives version of Holly Jolly Christmas! We laughed so hard we were holding our stomachs. I just hope that someone saw him from the front window. So much fun! I laughed so hard, the pictures turned out fuzzy. But the image is seared in our memories forever!
Kori couldn't be with us this year, but she did send us a video of her talent from Ecuador! The orphanage puts on a Christmas Eve talent show too! She and the other 3 volunteers put together a hula dance, and it was so cute! After talents and desserts, we settled down to our 2014 Christmas book, Once Upon A North Pole Christmas, the Christmas story from Luke 2, and our traditional audio of Twas The Night Before Christmas. Lucky Clint got some Star Wars pajamas!
