We didn't do a lot IN the water on this trip. Well, we did paddle board up the river in Hale'iwa, which was fantastic! The surf was high most of the days we went to the beach, so we just mostly walked around and enjoyed. Ah! Love these beaches! We visited several, starting with our Temple Beach in Laie. It's just down the street from campus. It's where Jamie and I spent a lot of time as students, and the sand here is just so light and wonderful. Love this place!
We love Waimea Bay! The surf was high the evening that we spent here. I could just listen to that all day long. We wanted to see the green flash, but there were too many clouds. But it made for a cool looking sky!
Also along Pupukea, we stopped at Shark's Cove. We've driven past this place lots of times but have never stopped till now. I can see why people like to snorkel here with all these cool tide pools all around, and when the ocean came up over the lava rock bar, it was spectacular! Someone has built these beautiful gardens behind Shark's Cove.
Sunset at Sunset! Doesn't get much better than this!
In my humble opinion, Kahana Bay is the most beautiful spot on the island. When I was a student, I loved being on the bus and driving past Kahana. Kori shares my opinion too, so we knew we needed to spend a day at Kahana Bay! These pics absolutely don't do this place justice. I can hardly even look at them! I just have to think about the beautiful Kahana in my mind!!!
