VISA Adventures

Kori and I chased down to SLC to get some Brazil VISA stuff taken care of.  Man, they are serious about their VISA requirements!  We have had to collect a bunch of stuff, do a lot of stuff online, and we even had to send Kori's passport in the mail to Brazil.  So no international traveling for her this summer.  But we are done!  We have done all that we can do and we got it taken care of on time, so hopefully all will go through in a timely manner so she can get her VISA and fly out to the Brazil MTC in September!  Kori and I had a fun day touring our beautiful State Capitol building.  I had never been there before.  I was amazed that we could just walk right in.  I thought for sure we'd have to go through some kind of security.  It is a lovely building and the people were so nice and got us taken care of in 10 minutes.  It was the easiest part of everything else Kori has had to do.  We also got lunch at Zupa's and did a little bit of Target shopping.

Happy Padre Day!

We had a nice day celebrating the fathers in our lives.  Karlton came for dinner and we had presents.  Padre got this fun Laybag.  It is like a  blow up hammock, and you can lay on it on land or water.  It has a wide opening that is easy to fill with air.  We are excited to try it out at the lake.  We love you Padre Man!  You are the bacon of dads, you make everything better!  Colton, we are so proud of you and the way you take care of your family.  You are such a good daddy to our sweet Livi!

Girls Camp

Well, I finally got my dream calling as YW Camp Director, and it was truly a dream!  I loved every minute of camp.  I had great assistants, YW leaders, YCLs, cooks and especially wonderful young women.  We all had a great time at beautiful Cinnamon Creek.  Plus, Kori came along!  She was here fresh from HI, so she joined us at camp for a week.  She's a great sport, she loved the girls and acted as our camp photographer.  Of course, the girls loved her.  I never thought I'd be able to spend a Girls Camp with Kori again!  Lucky us!!  We also got to be there with all the Wallys, which was even better.  A very fun and rewarding week, indeed.  Our theme was from 2 Nephi 9:39 Spiritually Minded Is Life Eternal, or SMILE.  We talked about what happiness truly is, keeping an eternal perspective, and bringing smiles into the lives of others through service.  We did a few service projects and crafts, hiked to the mine, played a lot of outdoor games, wore ugly pants, ate some seriously delicious food, shared testimonies under the stars, held fast to the iron rod, and did all of our certification at camp.  One of my former young women came to speak to us and did a beautiful job.  She was the highlight for me.  The next week we took our 4th years on their separate adventure to Bear Lake.  We did a little hiking, and a lot of swimming and sitting by the lake.  We had a very fun camp fire and did a night hike to see the fire flies.  LaBeau's shakes on the way home, it was a fast 24 hours, but a nice chance to start planning camp for next year with our new crop of YCLs.
