We Miss You, Kevin

We lost our kitty this week.  When we came home from our Bear Lake reunion trip, we didn't see him.  Our neighbors who had been taking care of him had just seen him the day before.  We were worried because he never wanders very far, and he always comes when we call him.  After a couple of days of missing him, we searched our yard a little more closely and found him behind our shed.  He had died.  He was just stretched out looking as natural and comfortable as could be.  He didn't look hurt at all.  We figure he must have just died in his sleep, had a heart attack or something.  We were so sad, but also relieved to have found him and know what happened.  We were able to give him a final resting place as we buried him under our forsythia bush where he liked to lay in the sun.  We had Kevin for 14 wonderful years.  He was a healthy cat up until the end.  Even though he had been starting to slow down a little bit this past year, he hadn't been sick or anything.  We loved him and will miss him so much!

Kevin finally made his peace with Cider and tolerated a bit of a friendship.
