I've heard about the Jardine Juniper ever since we moved to Cache Valley all those years ago, but I've never seen it until now. Our little hiking group has been working up to this big hike and we finally did it! 10.6 miles, 2100 ft elevation gain, 4 hours 22 minutes of hiking time, 25,000 steps, and this gnarly tree at the end. The tree is estimated to be 1500 years old! It's 40 feet tall, totally gnarled and twisted and dead looking, until you see the new green growth at the top. It was a pretty cool destination hike. My legs are pooped!
