Livi And Poma Day

Livi and I had a whole day to ourselves and boy did we ever make the most of it! We had so much fun. We left Momma and Ivy home to rest, and we headed out.  It was the first day that Daddy went back to work. Livi and I had a ball! She had been talking about ice cream and the mall and lunch. She's such a girl! So we went to the mall and ate at Chick Fil A and then we played on the ice cream truck and the dinosaur that they have there. Actually we kept going back there to play a bunch of times! She waved at Santa, but she did not want to talk to him. We went to an aquarium that they have at the mall. It was a cool aquarium! Kind of weird that it's at the mall, but whatever. We had fun. They had sharks and lizards and all kinds of fish and turtles and birds. We went into a special bird room full of parakeets and they put a little cup full of food in my hand and the birds were all over us! It was really cool! Then Livi and I went to Target and picked out a little toy for her. Then we went to the library and read some books and picked out a bunch of books to take home. Then we walked to the park, it was pretty warm out. The park was full of ducks and geese, and they were all over us too! We started walking down toward the river and these ducks were coming at us and they just surrounded us and looked at us. We just stopped, and when they figured out we weren't going to throw food at them, they just started waddling away. So cute. I was in bird heaven. It was fun. Next week I'm going to go steal Livi for a sleepover one night, can't wait!

Twice Blessed

The latest little Thompson miracle has arrived! Ivy Laretta Thompson, 6 lb 6 oz 19 in, Nov 25 at 3:30 pm. She is healthy, perfect, beautiful, and snuggly sweet. We love her so much! Karlee was induced early this morning. Lucky me got to hang out with Olivia all day. We visited Grammie at the library, played, watched "Enchanted," went to lunch and waited to hear about the baby. We were overjoyed to hear that everything went well. Karlee had an easy delivery and she is feeling great. Livi was so excited to go and meet her baby sissy. When we got there, she snuggled and kissed her and loved on her. Such sweet little sisters. Colton asked me to bring him some Carl's Jr, he was hungry! Colton and Karlee are tired tonight, but relieved and happy and proud. As they should be. We will go see them again tomorrow before they are discharged and head home. Lucky little girl. Ivy we love you!!

The Empty Turkey Nest

It's turkey lurkey time! Wes and I are spending it alone this year. First time ever having Thanksgiving with just the two of us. Our kids are at the Ulriches and were supposed to spend half the day with us, but sadly, Pop Pop is sick, and we can NOT make a pregnant woman who is about to give birth sick, nor a two year old! So they are staying put. Darn. They are so close, but yet so far! *sigh* It would be kind of fun to have it with just the two of us if one of us wasn't sick. I'm feeling a little bummed today. I really like having all my people around me. Wes is not great company right now. Poor guy. But we are trying to make the best of it, and we are grateful that we have each other. Poor Wes has been sick since Halloween. His sinuses blew up and the first doctor, a new one for us, made him wait 11 days for an antibiotic. 11 days! So 11 days later, he went back in and said "see?" But by that time the infection had had 11 days to fester. I really think if he would have just gotten an antibiotic the first time around, he would be fine by now. Grrrr... He's been starting to feel a little better, but then earlier this week, the infection reared its ugly head again, and we ended up in Instacare Tuesday night. Even more sad, Wes has a tooth abscess all at the same time! So he's now on 2 antibiotics, a steroid, an inhaler, plus lots of Airborne, cough drops, hand sanitizer, me following him around with disinfectant wipes... We thought by today the fever would be down and he would be starting to feel better. But no. At least he is breathing a little easier. I was pretty worried about that the other night. We haven't slept much either. It just stinks.

But the food was glorious! This was my favorite turkey and gravy ever! I gotta remember what I did for next year. So flavorful, and melt in your mouth delicious. We kept things low key, we didn't cook everything, just our favorites. I think it actually tasted pretty good to Wes. He has not wanted food for a couple of days.

This year we are grateful for our family, our most prized possession, and the creation we are most proud of. We love each one of them so much. Since this photo was taken, we've added 2, almost 3 more girls! The new baby comes this weekend! We are spread around the globe today, but we'll be together again soon. We are grateful and proud of  where each of our kids are at in their lives. Colton has a new job which he is liking a lot. He and Karlee are excellent parents, Livi is such a delight, and we can't wait to greet the new little one. Our missionaries have served well. Their testimonies have grown, and they are awesome examples to us. Their emails home are full of enthusiasm for the gospel. Wes and I are still in love and happy to have each other, even in the empty turkey nest!

Trick Or Treat, Freak

We had a super fun Halloween! Our costumes this year were Eleven and Hopper from Stranger Things. First stop was Bio-West where we handed out ghost cookies and showed off our costumes.

I drove down to Layton to spend the afternoon with Karlee and Livi. We went to Cafe Rio for lunch, hung out at the mall for a little bit, and trick or treated at the Ogden Lee's. We had a great time and Livi was so cute in her Belle costume!

Our ward had a trunk or treat with a soup dinner, so Wes and I partied there. It was really fun! We've never done one of those before. We had a blast, we even won a prize for our trunk decor.

Earlier in the week, Karlee and Colton had trunk or treat in their ward. Their family costume was really cute. Colton was the Beast to Livi's Belle, and Karlee was Mrs. Potts with a little Chip belly.

Even our missionaries got in on the Halloween action, Kori with a knife stuck in her head and Clint as Oz the great and powerful, ha ha!
