Happy Birthday to our Wes, Chicken Butt, Padre Man, Pop Pop, Geoman, our ROCK!! We love you! We celebrated together at the lake. Wes wanted yellow cake with chocolate frosting, but everyone else prefers chocolate cake, so I tried to half and half a cake, and it looked like a Pinterest fail when it came out of the oven, ha ha! It looked (and tasted) much better with frosting, and Wes had requested a train track, so he got a train track. He's so funny. We ate make your own quesadillas for dinner. We had presents and a belated talent show. Later that night, Wes and I walked down to Raspberry Square to watch the burning of the Garden City Christmas tree. We sledded and skied for a couple of days and had a really great time!

Mr. Owl
We came home one evening during the holidays, got out of the car and heard this owl in the Mikesell's tree. We walked over and it hooted at us a few times before it flew away. So cool!

Christmas Day
Christmas Day was so fun! We woke up about 8:00 ish, had Mrs. Bush's, cinnamon bread and potato casserole for breakfast, called Grandpa Mike, and then settled in for the long gift exchange. We opened gifts until about noon! Santa was so good to us this year. We talked to Colton's family and saw all of their presents. We lazed around in the afternoon, had a yummy dinner, and watched some more Star Wars in the evening. Christmas is the best! Thank you Santa!

Christmas Eve
Due to Covid, this year's Christmas Eve had to be celebrated virtually with the grandkids. Wes and Michelle got symptoms early in December. Wes tested positive first, then Michelle, and then Clint and Kori finally tested positive. Our cases were relatively mild, thank goodness, but we had to quarantine through Christmas Day. So we spent Christmas Eve together virtually in our ugly Christmas sweaters, making cookies over Messenger. Then we played some games, including a fun Jeopardy game that Colton and Karlee set up. We each had yummy dinners and got our new PJs. At our house, instead of Lord of the Rings, it was a Star Wars marathon for the holidays. It was a different holiday not being together, but we made the most of it and enjoyed it.
