Day 2 was a bucket list item for Wes as we visited the Indianapolis Speedway. His eyes were like saucers all day. We saw some racing, including qualifiers for the Grand Prix as well as Indy Lites racing. We also really enjoyed the museum. The whole place really different than I had pictured. The speedway is enormous! It's 2 1/2 miles around the track. So you can only see part of the track from your seat. And the stands will hold something like 350,000 people! Inside the track they have the museum, a golf course, places for the drivers to park their giant motor coaches, food stands, and I don't know what all else. We couldn't believe how huge it was. We had so much fun walking around and exploring the place. After the Speedway, we drove to the mission home to meet President and Sister Carlson, Clint's Mission President and wife. We had a delightful visit with Clint, they were excited to hear about what he's been up to, and they updated us on news from the mission. We also drove over to the temple, which is beautiful! We didn't have time for a session, we just walked around outside. That evening, we had dinner with the Creightons, one of Clint's favorite families. They fixed us yummy Mexican food and we visited and had a great time with them all evening.

Indiana 2018 Day One - We're Goin' Back To Indiana!
How lucky we were to be able to take Clint back to Indiana to visit his mission areas! We had a fabulous trip. Everyone treated us so well, we got fed every day, and it was so sweet for us to hear how much the people love our boy. Bonus for us, it's beautiful there! The first day we headed to Columbus, which is a darling little town known for its interesting architecture. We loved walking around seeing the sights. We found Clint's old apartment and ran into two sets of Elders. We found a covered bridge in a really fun riverside park, and visited their pretty library. We ate ice cream at the most adorable ever old fashioned ice cream parlor. That evening, we drove to another cute little town, Danville, where we met one of Clint's favorite members, Dawn, at the Mayberry Cafe. After a delightful dinner, including Indiana style fried biscuits with apple butter, Dawn took us out to the country to see the Amish people. We stopped at an Amish farm where the cutest Amish family has a produce stand. We talked to them, played with the kids, and bought some black raspberry jam and cookies. While we were driving around, we saw a bunch of buggies with cute young couples in them. It was some kind of Amish holiday, so they must have had a dance or some kind of event, because these buggies were everywhere. They don't like their photo taken, but we snuck a few anyway.
