Kori Does Japan

Kori and a few friends went on a little graduation trip to Japan before she came home. She had so much fun. She said the Japanese people were all super nice and friendly and helpful, and she loved the heated toilet seats. When we picked her up from the airport, we visited Karlton and went out to lunch. It is soooooo good to be together!

The Harbor

We also walked around the harbor in Kailua-Kona. Then it was time to say goodbye to Kori who flew back to Oahu to catch another plane to Japan for a little graduation trip with some friends. Wes and I came back to the harbor for a yummy fresh catch of the day dinner before we caught our plane home. We were sad to let Kori go and sad to leave Hawaii. We have to go back!!

Kona Temple

We drove into Kailua-Kona and found the Kona Temple. It is a really pretty smaller temple with small but beautiful grounds around it. It looks to be made of marble, it's really sparkly and shiny. Next door to the temple is a gorgeous stake center and pavilion and more pretty grounds. We saw a lovely bride getting her pictures taken while we were walking around.

The Shire

Our last day before our red eye flight home, we checked out of our house and then just drove around and saw a few new things. First up was this incredibly beautiful meadow that covered a little volcano crater. These colors are legit, it was so awesome and gorgeous! And it was interesting because there was a road we drove up to see this, and on one side of the road was this pretty green rolling meadow, and on the other side of the road was a dry lava bed. It was indicative of what the Big Island has to offer though, such different landscapes. We thought we had entered Hobbiton. This is the Shire of the Big Island...
