Just a few more dance pictures. Kori got the group pics and they turned out so cute! Isn't this a great looking bunch of teenagers?
I love Kori's poofy dress in this jumping pic:

Homecoming Dance 2011
The kids were buzzing after last night's big win! It was a great game, and ... fireworks! Awesome! Tonight is the dance. I had to take a lot of pics of this dress 1. because it is beautiful 2. because it is even more beautiful with Kori in it and 3. I worked hard on tweaking and hemming and so it just needed lots of pictures. Here is the gorgeous dress (and girl):

And the date. This is AJ. Don't they look cute?
Their group had their "day date" yesterday after school because a lot of the boys had a cross country meet today. They played a version of mini golf at a park, ate dinner with their hands all tied together (sounds awkward and totally fun!) and went to the game. It was kind of nice to have that out of the way today so we could spend lots of time getting Kori ready for the dance. I hope they are having a fantastic time!!

Kori threw candy out at the parade:
I wish EVERY day could be Spirit Day! Look how happy they are at 6:30 am! If only they could be this happy about going to school all the time!!
And on to the game and dance this weekend! Go Bobcats!!

Salmon Time
It is definitely worth the drive up to Porcupine Dam to see the salmon jumping up the river. They'll be there another week or two.
There were a lot of these guys together in this little pool. These falls were probably pretty daunting, but one by one they were making it up past the rocks.
Kori felt sorry for them.
If you look closely you can see some bright red fish that were making it up these rocks.
I have no idea why these goats were there, but they were totally posing for my camera!
There was a lot more water in the lake than last year when we were here. It was a gorgeous day!

Camp Fire
We found ourselves in the middle of a wildfire at our Labor Day camp! Sunday afternoon we were just chilling in camp. I was in the camper writing a letter to Colton, when I heard sirens and saw a police car and a fire truck come up the road. I thought at first that someone had gotten hurt, but then I turned around and saw the hill right next to us was on fire!
Next thing we knew, we had about 15 fire trucks there, and our camp became Firefighter Command Central!
We pulled up our recliners and binoculars and just watched the firefighters go to work.
Luckily it was slow moving, but it was definitely spreading throughout the day.
More trucks arrived throughout the day.
Here is our camp in Command Central.
Kori's little truck was right in the middle of the action.
All of the camp sites above us were evacuated. I was a little worried, but we did have all of these professionals between us and the fire! We talked to the firefighters a bit. Mostly we just watched them go to work.
Silly Clint!
The flames were really visible as it got dark!
This is what it looked like the next morning. The fire was out, but the firefighters were still there all day, putting out hot spots and clearing debris. We are grateful to them for coming out on a holiday weekend and keeping us all safe!
