The Museum Of Clean

I meet Jamie once in a while in Pocatello, and we always have a great time catching up and eating yummy Mexican food.  Our most recent get together was one for the books.  We have both had several people tell us we needed to visit the Museum of Clean, so we decided we'd go.  We figured it would kill a half hour before lunch.  We had no idea that Don Aslett himself would be there to take us on a complete personal tour for 2 1/2 hours!  I kid you not.  Parts of it were very interesting, most of it was Quirky with a capital Q, but some of it became pretty ridiculous.  I'm glad Jamie was there to verify that it all really happened!  Don Aslett doesn't seem 80 years old, and it's very apparent that he LOVES what he does.  Enough to dedicate an 80,000 square foot historical building to clean.  Not just how to clean, but being clean in all forms.  He was probably a fun guy to work for back in his heyday.  Toward the end, we came to a Mary Poppins display all about chimney sweeps.  Before we could say supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, Don grabbed chimney sweep hats, put them on our heads, swiped our noses with some kind of black concoction and stuck us in a completely dark, confined chimney.  What?  The craziest thing was when he pointed out a picture of a young missionary with 2 chimney sweeps, and Jamie said "that's my dad!"  And yeah, it was her dad!  It doesn't get much crazier than this day.  I'm glad we will be able to laugh about it.  Thanks, Jamie for being my dearest friend of more than 30 years.  I love our girl dates and look forward to them so much!  I hope they'll never stop!
