Turkey Lurkey Time

We woke up Thanksgiving day to mass amounts of snow! We measured at least 13 inches. We shoveled out and built some snowmen in the morning before Thanksgiving dinner. We had a regular snowman, a deranged mutant killer monster snow goon, and a t-rex in the backyard. Our dinner this year was held at Maple Springs where Grandma Pauline and Grandpa Mike have been living since July. All of our Idaho family were supposed to be here too, but they couldn't make it down due to the snow. All we were supposed to make was a salad and a pie, so we scrambled to put together a presentable meal. We ended up with some delicious deli turkey and rolls, two salads, deviled eggs, olives, cheeseball and crackers, and yummy apple pie. It actually tasted delicious and was much easier than making a traditional turkey. We had lots of fun with the girls. We brought coloring pages, games and hot wheels to keep us all entertained. I think Grandma and Grandpa had fun too. The quote of the day comes from Ivy. I was putting her hood on her head and bugging her and she came out with "stop touching me!" We all rolled on the floor laughing, partly because it came out of nowhere and partly because of her parents' horrified reactions. It was so cute! The snow cleared enough for Colton and Karlee to make it home that night. Clint and Kori and I had fun playing some Settlers later in the evening. The next day our snowmen were looking pretty sad, poor things. It was a happy Thanksgiving and we are so grateful for family this year.
