Our California Adventure - Last Day At The Beach

Our last full day.  Bittersweet.  We headed down to Huntington Beach to walk along the pier.  We watched a bunch of surfers who knew what they were doing.  There was also a beach volleyball tournament going on.  Kori and I could have sat there all day just watching, but the boys were anxious to rent some boards and get out into the water.  We had heard how beautiful Laguna Beach is, so we headed down the coast a little more.  It was a fun afternoon sitting on the beach, playing in the water and walking through the tidepools.  We spent the evening with a former mission companion of Wes's and his family who live in Laguna Hills.  Next morning, up and at 'em!  Drove on home.  We are so glad that we could have this week together, especially since we are not together enough as a complete family anymore!  We are so grateful for Colton's mission experience.  I love that he went to California because it is so doable to return to visit!  I hope we can do it again sometime!!

Not sure what these faces are about.  There was nothing to be grumpy for on this day!

We really liked Huntington Beach.  It was a little overcast in the morning, but the sun came out  when we got to Laguna.

Beautiful Laguna Beach

Now Wes knows why there are no fat surfers.  It takes a lot of arm power to paddle out!

Colton and Kori heading out to see the tide pools.

Clint didn't love the surfing as much this day.  This beach was a little rocky.  He got  his foot sliced up a little bit.

Geo-man with the rocks.

Wes wanted to stop on the way home and find the San Andreas Fault.  This is it!  He was so excited to get his picture taken, and he brought his rock hammer so he could bring home a piece of rock.
