Karlton Forever!

Congratulations to these two!  Karlee and Colton were sealed in the Logan temple on Friday.  It was a beautiful ceremony, and despite the freezing temperatures, we had a wonderful day.  The reception was so nice, and a lot of fun for us, since we basically had the same guest list as the Ulriches!  We are so happy for the new Mr. and Mrs.  What an exciting time, starting a new life together!!  They are an adorable couple and well suited for each other.  We're glad Kori had her camera so she could snap a few pics of them coming out of the temple.  We're anxious to get the pics from the photographer, we'll share more when we do!!

Kori was mostly helping out at the reception, but she did snap a few pics!

Karlee's gorgeous sisters who manned the photo booth, made the cake, set up the reception, styled the bride's hair, etc. etc. etc.  These two are amazing!

Awesome kitchen help!  We couldn't have pulled it off without these ladies!

And the car... holy moly!  There will be no end to these paper punches!  The boys (and Kenlee) obviously had a ton of fun!

I know these guys were trying to incriminate Miss Kenlee, but come on, we all know that she was coerced!  She was having a great time!!  Isn't she cute?  But brrrrr... I know how cold it was, could someone have put a coat on this child!?  ;)

It's For Real!

Someone's dream came true today!

Dear Kori:

Congratulations!  I am pleased to inform you that you have been accepted for admission beginning Fall 2013.  You have shown that you are academically prepared and also committed to upholding the high standards of the university.

The university is dedicated to preparing graduates whose "influence will be felt for good toward the establishment of peace internationally."  We are confident that you will graduate and contribute to fulfilling this prophetic mission.

Sincerely,

BYU-Hawaii

Kori, I know you are relieved, overjoyed, excited, and ready!  You have dreamed about BYU-Hawaii your whole life.  Way to go after your dreams, girl!  I am feeling a little deja vu, since I had the same experience 27 years ago.  I know exactly how you feel and I'm proud of you and a little bit jealous.  It is so fun for us to have the same special feelings about this incredible place.  I hope you have every bit as fantastic an experience as I did in Laie!!  I will miss you like crazy, so be ready for lots of Skyping and Facebook stalking and texting and phone calls!  And I hope you'll let me visit you too!  Won't it be so fun!?  Love, Mom

Happy Five-0 To This Guy!

We got home a couple of days before Wes's actual birthday, so we were able to celebrate at home with a Hawaiian flavored meal, chocolate pudding, and New Year's Eve games with friends.  Thanks everyone for the love you showed the Birthday Boy.  He may be OLD, but he'll always be young at heart.  We love you, Padre Man!!

Hawaii Five-0 - Diamond Head

The Diamond Head hike is one of those quintessential Oahu touristy things that everyone should do once.  I had never hiked it, so I really wanted to get up there.  We were finally able to make it happen on our last day.  It was a beautiful day and the views were spectacular.
I love that Royal Hawaiian Hotel.  This is as close as we got to Waikiki!  We liked staying away from the crowds on this trip!!

Can you see the Diamond Head Lighthouse down there?

"A Geologist can't resist a hole in the ground!"  Wes wanted his picture taken with the inside of the crater. Although it wasn't as exciting as an active volcano, he still thought it was cool to be hiking up the side of a crater.

Well, goodbye Hawaii.  Until next time!
