We are all LOST junkies at our house. Best show on television. Ever. One of the funnest things we did in Hawaii was look for LOST locations, since the entire show was filmed on Oahu. We were practically giddy when we found Dharmaville! It is a YMCA youth camp, and it was just up the road from us. It is so recognizable!
Obviously the place caters to crazy fans like us! Since we were there the morning of Christmas Eve, we had it all to ourselves. We talked to one of the camp managers who told us a few tidbits and then let us have at it.
I was just hoping I was actually standing on LaFleur's porch! |
This building was used as the school and the welcome center. Namaste. |
A lot of famous butts sat right here! |
The beach next to Dharmaville was the sight of the plane crash scene in the LOST pilot. It is a gorgeous beach, large with white sand, and practically deserted on this part of the island.
I love this shot! Ironic that a plane was overhead at the plane crash beach!! |
Another day, we found the Byodo-In Temple. It is situated in the Valley of the Temples near Kaneohe. Not only is this temple used in LOST, we've also seen it in Hawaii Five-0, both new and old. It is gorgeous!
Kori called to the Koi and of course, they came to her. |
Out back we came across a patch of bamboo. Look familiar anyone?? |
We were so excited about seeing LOST locations, that we started watching it again while we were in Hawaii! Ha ha!!
Does this guy look familiar?
Wes was our Google Expert and LOST Locations Tour Guide. We also saw a few other places:
We drove through Waialua where the scenes for Mr. Eko's Nigeria were filmed.
We saw the ranch where Hurley's golf course was located.
We saw the lagoon where the submarine launch was filmed.
We saw Costco, where Mr. Locke met his mother.
We might have seen the tree where Kate buries the airplane toy.
We looked up several more that we didn't see. So if you're planning a trip to Oahu and you want to see LOST locations, talk to Wes and let him be your tour guide. Or better yet, invite us and we'll show you in person! Yeah!!
